will the uk ever truley ever become multicultural ???
i mean they say we are there allready but we cant be because we don`t tend to mix with other cultures
british are not fond of other cultures and the feeling seems mutural but wouldn`t it be good for us all to just be friends and get along n be nice people that way the world would be a better place #

if you're really into this stuff, you should look up marshall mcluhan on wikipedia. he came up with the idea of mediation - first they sell you the idea that we need all this stuff - when really we don't - so they can stay in business, the cost we don't see is what they do in the third world to make it cheap enough for us to buy all this crap. It's difficult to accept as wwesterner aswell, makes you feel very guilty.
it's one of those - "how deep into the rabbit hole do you want to go" kind of scenarios, you could get really depressed thinking about this stuff - I hope you've got cheerful friends Sarah!!
I any case, I think you're doing a great thing by thinking about it all, would be great if more people would confront the issues instead of crawling away to the TV every night, y'know.

erm mediation or mcluhan or the whole exploiting the third world bit? It is confusing, if you feel confused it's a good thing, it means you don't understand, which means you will read more until you do understand, at least I hope you do : )

It would be a better place, trouble is someone always comes along, who is greedier and cleverer than everyone else and manipulates things to suit themselves... that probably sounds apathetic, but then you get into the whole demonstration vs revolution debate.
